UNDERSTAND LIGHT
For years, wattage was typically the measure used to evaluate the
brightness produced by a lamp. However, continuous advancements
in LED technology have shifted the focus from wattage to lumens,
since they use less wattage to produce the same level of
brightness as alternative lamp types.
Lumens refer to the measure of light output, or brightness,
of a lamp. The more lumens an LED lamp provides, the brighter
the light. All Westinghouse LED packaging specifies the equivalent
incandescent wattage associated with the lamp’s lumen output.
This helps provide a standard for comparing all LED lamps.

LOOK FOR LUMENS
Watts are the amount of energy that a light bulb uses.
Lower wattage lamps yield lower electric costs.
An LED lamp that produces the same brightness (or lumens)
as an incandescent or CFL lamp has a lower wattage and is more
energy-efficient. LED lamps are the most energy-efficient light
source.
Which Bulb is Most Efficient?
USE LESS WATTS
Making the switch to LED lamps offers significant energy, cost and
time savings over incandescent, halogen and fluorescent alternatives.
LED technology uses less energy to produce the same light output
as other lamp alternatives, which means you’ll reduce your energy
costs significantly and minimize your carbon footprint.
Furthermore, LED lamps will last much longer than most alternative
lamps. Depending on daily use, one lamp will last for decades, making
lamp changes a rare occurrence. As LED technology continues to
advance, the opportunities for savings will only increase. Westinghouse
offers a broad assortment of LED lamps to fit your lighting needs.
